Happy Father's to my Dad and all the other Beyer brothers! My dad and I just returned from our most recent trip to Houston. This was another successful trip, I had several interviews with many principals for my placement in the fall and had three "unofficial" offers and will know this Friday where I will be teaching come August.

After looking at several apartment complexes, I found a very nice one-bedroom apartment which is also home to several EIU alums that teach in the district, which I am excited about.

The highlight of the trip had have been yesterday when Dad and I were able to drive to the Galveston area and eat an amazing shrimp lunch/dinner right on the Gulf, probably some of the best shrimp I've ever had!

Well after flying from the Gulf to the Great Lakes I'm off to work another great week at Cedar Point. Hope everything is going great!

Here and gone...

Dave and I were off last week. And how time flew by...why doesn't time pass as quickly when you're working???

We did light jobs around the house getting it ready for renting. Both our cars got their oil changed. Dave and Steve did work on Dave's car(something with the supercharger). We went house hunting, but have yet to find "the one". We visited with Grandma and Grandpa Wood and Great Gram. We took Evelyn to the Olive Garden. She was an angel playing contently. We went to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle on Friday. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed ourselves. There is a nice children's museum and a pretty cool maze garden. Above are some pics of our adventure.

Summer Update

Hello All! Just a little update . . .

I have successfully returned to Cedar Point for another summer before moving to Houston in August. My buddy from college, Aaron, and I have a room in Cedars which was orginaly the first hotel at Cedar Point, so it has been interesting living in a building that is over 100+ years old.

I am back working in the park operations office were do several different tasks, and just this morning I was told I was an applauding individual because I removed cardboard from a child's shoes that made the child taller to ride some of our roller coasters, man what parents do to please their children.

Tomorrow I will be picking up some hours on Top Thrill Dragster, which is our 420ft roller coaster and launches riders 120 mph in under one minute, needless to say its pretty intense.

Well that's all for now. I'll be taking some pictures later this week and I'll post a few of them. Dad and I will be traveling down to Houston on Wednesday of this week were I will be meeting principals and being assigned my teaching location for the next school year.

Hope all is well!

College Reunion

Kaye & I will be attending another Lea College reunion in mid July this year. They seem to have them about every three years. This one should be fun because my old friend Phil Moore is going to be there this time. We have already made our reservations for the reunion and the motel.
We plan on leaving on Thursday after work and getting as far as the Wisconsin Dells. Staying there that night and arriving in Albert Lea the next afternoon.

Busy Times

Hello Everyone,

Here are pictures of our little garden. We have 4 tomato plants and 2 green pepper plants. So far they are growing. I will let you know if we get any tomatoes or peppers.

Last weekend we went to Mickey Finn's and the River Inn in Waterford, WI to watch Sound of Mountains. We had a great time. The band is improving and adding songs by CCR and the Doors. They will be playing in Barrington June 19. To follow the band the website is http://www.soundofmountains.com/

I won the Biggest Loser contest at work. I lost 18 pounds. My prize was the entrance fee pot $150 and a paid day off of work. Pretty cool. I did my own Extreme Makeover - new glasses, four crowns on my front teeth and weight loss. I feel good, but would like to lose a few more pounds. I'm sure my doctor will be happy when I go back.
Missy I like the new look of the blog.

Take care everyone.

9 months!!!

Hi there! I'm nine months old. As Grandpa Jim pointed out, I've been out of Mommy's tummy as long as I was in. He makes me giggle.

I can eat real food now. I love egg yolk, waffles, yogurt, cheese, graham crackers, mashed potatoes...the list goes on and on! And I'm getting pretty good at drinking out of a sippy cup.

I'm not crawling yet, but I'm getting on my hands and knees from a seated position and I'm trying to go. I can sit up from a lying position all by myself. I can even pull myself up to a standing position in my crib.

My favorite word is "dada". I love making funny faces and blowing raspberries. I'm an all around ham. :)
