Getting ready for summer

Hello everyone!  It has been  a busy few months for us.  I decided to take more classes in the spring semester so that I would be free to work more this summer and it was a packed semester!  I am so happy to be finally through with it and on to my last semester before student teaching, my maymester.  I am doing a 3 week maymester course titled The Natural Environment of Georgia.  It is an amazing course that has 5 field trips so that we can experience the 5 different eco-regions of the state.  This week we experienced the Piedmont and Blue Ridge regions.  We have been doing some pretty exhausting hikes but it is so worth it!  We get to see some beautiful views and learn about so many different species.  I am eager to bring this new information into my future classrooms.  Once I've finished with this course both my mom and I will be off for the entire summer.  Roy will be taking more classes, but he is excited to be getting into his first computer science courses.  We will also begin training once more for the Atlanta half.  Last year I started in July but this year I hope to get more serious in June, right when my class finishes.  We are also looking forward to the summer so that we can introduce Gregor to the outdoors.  Gregor is our latest edition to the family, he is a baby Bearded Dragon and because he is ectothermic he could not go outside during the cooler months.  He came to us from Orlando in February and has not stopped growing!  Currently he is 12 inches, but I am hoping that he reaches the full size of 24 inches by his birthday, which is November 18th (or should I say hatch-day!).  Hopefully Gregor will be joining me on my teaching journey to become my class pet.  He is very docile so I believe he will be great with my students.  I am more than ready for summer to arrive and I can't wait to see what's in store for the fall!  Enjoy some of my photos taken from the Blue Ridge eco-region.
