party time...

Hello, here are some pictures from my first birthday party. It was a surprise. Mommy & Daddy did a great job keeping it a secret because I had no idea what was going on, but it was so much fun! If this is what parties are like I can't wait until my second birthday! I really enjoyed my birthday cupcake. I think I did a pretty good job devouring it. Life would be so sweet if I could eat cupcakes all day long. :) Mommy has been trying to post a video of the cupcake action, but it's not uploading, so she posted a couple pics instead.

I got lots of nice presents. New clothes, books, a picture frame, a bench, a ride on princess car and a lion to help me walk, to name a few. Thank you to everyone!

Wedding Culture

Jim and I attended two weddings on Saturday for the same couple. The husband came from a Indian background and the bride came from a Greek background. It was very interesting. The Indian ceremony was at 10:00 am with a luncheon following. The Greek ceremony was at 4:00 with the reception following. It was a very long day. I did learn how to do some Indian dancing.

We had a little free time between ceremonies so we drove by the old Beyer house on Oriole Ave in Chicago and took this picture.

Here is a picture of the tile floor in our upstairs bathroom that Bobby and his friend George put in for us. Bobby did 90% of the work. They did a nice job. Next comes the downstairs bathroom.

Hi from Waggoner

This is our pond. Jake and Katie really like to swim in the pond and chase bull frogs.
This is the side yard.

Here are pictures of our new house. It is a log home that sits on 5 acres and is nestled in woods. It is very peaceful here and we both really like it. We see wildlife everyday and sometimes even in our yard. We both really like our new jobs.

Greetings From Texas

Hello All! Well my summer is completed at Cedar Point which means I am not living in Texas. The move was pretty good, Mom and I had the long 17 hour drive from Indianapolis to Houston! It was a great drive to spend with my mom before being out on my own. I'm not sure how thrilled my mom was since she was forced to drive the truck towing a trailer, but she did a great job!

Thursday was spent with Mom, Dad, Lyn, and Ron unloading the trailer and moving all of my belongings up to the third floor on probably the hottest I could ever remember! Luckily we were able to pay some of the landscapers to haul that heavy couch up the three-flights of stairs!

After the move we all spent the next few days enjoying our company and spending a relaxing day in Galveston and enjoying probably the best shrimp/seafood I have ever eaten!

As for the near future, I sign my contract tomorrow and begin staff training this week. All of the Cy-Fair staff reports next Monday (8-17-09) for our week of training then the students arrive on Monday the 24th. I have attached some pictures of the apartment thus far . . . I'm sure there will be more to come!

11 months

Good afternoon! Today I'm 11 months old! Unfortunately, I woke up with a cold. :( Hope I'm not sick for long.

I've been so busy since my last entry. I'm crawling all over the place and am cruising the furniture too. I learned how to climb stairs, clap, wave, pick my nose and grind my teeth.

I'm eating all big people food now and have a great appetite. I'm doing really well feeding myself and drinking out of a sippy cup.

I have my 2 front top teeth and 3 on the bottom with 1 more coming in.

I out grew my infant car seat because I'm too tall, so now I have a new big girl chair. It's pretty comfy.

I have fun chasing Chloe and Fuzzball, going to the pool or splashing around in my sprinkler pool and going for bike rides. I also like reading, playing with toys and trying to catch bubbles. The trouble is, they always pop!?!

My Daddy is doing much better, but is not yet 100%. I'm happy he didn't have to go to the hospital. :)
